Okay all, I have been trying to find a specific fic for what seems like ages now, but haven't had any luck. I don't remember much, but what I do remember is:
- Atlantis was cut off from Earth for some reason and I believe took on a bunch of refuges from Earth after whatever happened.
- Atlantis started to rework their society/mission/etc and put together an election to elect a leader for their people.
- The was some guy who was very close-minded/rude/arrogant/etc from Earth that was causing problems and he was running for office. I think maybe, he was against allowing people from Pegasus into their society or allowing them to have high places int the society... let's just say he was an unsavory character who would be bad news for everybody.
- John, Rodney, Elizabeth ( I think Elizabeth was in it, but I'm not sure) was worried what would happen if the man was elected.
- I believe there were debates and campaigning as the man tried to win people over. I remember him talking to people/groups about why they should vote for him.
- The electoral race was really tense, with it being unclear who would win.
- The man didn't win, but I can't remember who did (I am thinking Elizabeth won or at least someone the original expedition approved of).
- It was a longer fic and it had a McKay/Sheppard pairing.
