There was some sort of home exchange where Rodney would live in David's house and David's family would stay at Rodney's for a certain amount of time. John shows up and it turns out the house belongs to him and David had no right to do the exchange. John and Rodney eventually work things out and get along with each other. I know I'm doing a poor job of describing this story, but does anyone recognize it?
